Ricoh is more known for their multi-function printers and copier systems. In year 2011, Ricoh decide to partner with Vidyo to enter into the Unified Communications business.
Their first IP only video conferencing endpoint (UCS P3000) is a portable unit that comes with integrated camera and Wi-Fi support. It is based on Vidyo’s Adaptive Video Layering platform H.264 SVC encoding standard. This means lower TCO as MCU is not needed for video transcoding.
